Looking for a French Martini recipe?
The Martini is a cocktail that is made with gin and vermouth and it is garnished with olive or lemon twist. In the past recent years the Martini has grown to become one of the best known blended alcoholic beverages.
H.L Mencken had once commented that the martini is the only American invention that is said to be as perfect as the sonnet. E.B White had also commented that it is the “the elixir of quietude”.
The French Martini is a drink that is listed as one of the six basic drinks in the popular classic< “The Fine Art Of Mixing Drinks” by David A. Embury along with other favorite cocktails.
This drink is known to be the epitome of sophistication and it involves the perfect blending of raspberry liquor, pineapple juice and vodka. The blend comes out as a elegant liquid that has a deep red color. This drink is one that is perfect for both summer and winter. The drink can also be prepared for individual or group batches.
Thanks to many popular bartenders the French Martini has played a very significant role in the introduction of the new breed of martinis that have surfaced in the recent times. The famous ones among them are fruity and well balanced with a mix of ingredients.
French Martini Recipe Ingredients:
- 50ml/1.5oz Raspberry Vodka
- 75ml/2.5oz Fresh Pineapple Juice
- 15ml/0.5oz Chambord
- Ice
- Boston Shaker
In case you do not get Chambord, Creme de Framboise that is Raspberry liqueur or Creme de Mure that is Blackberry liqueur, can be used in the drink recipe instead.
Directions:
You need to build the liquid ingredients in an ice filled mixing glass. You need to pace the Boston Shaker tin on the top of the mixing glass and ensure that it has a good seal. The entire mixture has to be shaken hard until you see that there is a frost on the outside of the tin. After you see that there is a good frost strain the drink into a chilled martini glass.
You will notice that the pineapple juice will cause the blend to froth up when it is shaken. This makes the look of the drink elegant in presentation when placed on the top of the regal red color.
You have the option of making a fruitier version of the drink with a slightly thicker consistency and a more pronounced taste of raspberries. For this you need to muddle about five or six fresh raspberries in a mixing glass along with a wooden rolling pin.
This needs to be done before you add the ice and the other liquid ingredients. If you adopt this mode of preparation you must ensure that the drink is fine strained with the aid of a sieve or a tea strainer so that no seeds or pulp make their way into the final product that you are making for yourself or your guests.
I hope you try making this French Martini recipe!
